Bee Keeping

As an alternative income source TVRA is implementing a tree-based value chain through bee keeping to reduce on Deforestation and habitat loss as a result of bush burning. In so doing, TVRA under the project has identified 100 individual farmers from both refugee and Host communities to rear bees. The identified farmers were trained by Adraa Agricultural College for one week in basic bee keeping course for 5 days before giving the beneficiaries bee hives. A total of 4000 Bee hives have been distributed to the 100 trained farmers and due to land shortage three refugee groups were formed and given bee hives in groups of 25 members each, all their farms are located within Rhino camp Refugee settlement.
